There are two main reasons why the earlobes may show or stick out too much or be too far from the head; one is the excessively wide angle formed between the earlobes and the head or scalp, second the size itself of the earlobes; evidently an oversized earlobes will always be too visible independently from its angle, and an angled earlobes will show too much regardless it size; should the earlobes be oversized and angled then the problem is doubled.
Treatment of prominent earlobes can be carried out by incisional techniques to pin them back cutting away a wedge of skin and fat along the posterior side of the earlobe.
